Operated by Directions Health Services, the Althea Wellness Centre provides multidisciplinary and person centred primary care for individuals and their families who experience issues with alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD). Access to nursing, medical and psychological services is available. Primary health care services include diagnosis and treatment of acute health problems; immunisation; chronic disease management and care plan; wound management and dressings; vein care; psychological services; health promotion, coaching and support; adult health check; quit smoking support, and dental referral. Secondary health care is also offered which can involve more specialised care.

Initial assessment: Specialist ATOD assessments are undertaken and can include comprehensive alcohol, tobacco and other drug history; mental, physical, medical, social and family history; domestic and family violence screening, risk assessment, criminal and legal history. Note: all new Althea Wellness Centre service users complete a comprehensive health assessment with a practice nurse prior to seeing a General Practitioner.

- Provides on-site integrated screening and treatment for viral hepatitis
- Supports people with advanced liver disease to access ongoing liver monitoring support through external organisations
- Referrals to access screening, treatment and ongoing monitoring for viral hepatitis with external providers
- Provides on-site screening and treatment for STI
- Referrals to access screening & treatment for sexually transmitted infections with external providers
- Provides safe sec information (e.g. brief advise or provision of info, condoms)
- Provides on site Human Papillomavirus Vaccines (HPV)
